Two Rescuer-CPR

 

  • Perform Initial Assessment
  • Adult/Child-Rescuer 2 finds the correct hand position.
    • Rescuer 2 gives chest compressions-when Rescuer 1 says, “NO PULSE. Begin CPR”
      • Adult-30 compressions, compress the chest 1 ½ to 2 inches.
      • Child-15 compressions, compress the chest 1 to 1 ½ inches.
    • Rescuer 1 gives 2 Rescue Breaths-breaths should last 1 second.
  • Infant- Rescuer 2 finds the correct hand position.
    • Place thumbs next to each
    • Other on the center of the chest, just below the nipple line. Place hands
    • Underneath the infant’s shoulder. Rescuer 2 gives 15 compressions.
    • Rescuer 1 gives 2 Rescuer Breaths-breaths should last 1 second.
  • Do cycles of Adult- 30 compressions to 2 rescue breaths for 2 minutes.
    • Infant/Child-15 compressions to 2 rescue breaths for 2 minutes.
  • Change Positions
    • Rescuer 2 calls for a position change by saying, “CHANGE”
    • Rescuer 1 gives 2 Rescue Breaths, Rescuer 2 moves to the head,
    • Rescuer 1 locates correct hand position and begins compressions.
    • Changing positions should take less than 5 seconds.
